Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Environmental Engineer with 15 years plus to join our team for a large-scale housing project involving residential buildings, schools, and district infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all project activities adhere to environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and health and safety protocols. You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and local authorities to implement environmental policies, reduce project impacts, and promote green building practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs) for residential, school, and district components of the project.
• Conduct site assessments to identify environmental risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including waste management, air and water quality standards, and energy efficiency goals.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate sustainable design and construction practices.
• Monitor construction activities to minimize environmental impacts, such as soil erosion, pollution, and resource consumption.
• Lead environmental audits and reporting, ensuring all documentation is in line with project requirements.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and regulatory bodies to secure necessary environmental permits and approvals.
• Provide technical guidance on environmental issues to project teams and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Prepare reports on environmental performance, sustainability efforts, and compliance status for internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct environmental training and awareness programs for project staff and subcontractors.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• 15+ years of experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on construction, residential projects, or urban development.
• Strong knowledge of environmental laws and regulations, particularly in construction and urban development settings.
• Experience in environmental impact assessments (EIAs), sustainability reporting, and green building certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring systems, data analysis, and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet project deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
• LEED Accredited Professional (AP) or similar green building certification.
• Experience with energy-efficient technologies and sustainable design practices.
• Experience with large-scale residential, educational, or district-level projects.
• Public Authority for Housing Welfare experience and approval highly preferred.
