Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibility for:
• Managing, monitoring and reporting on the delivery of SSH’s Scope of Services under SSH’s Contract assuming responsibilities as delegated by the Lead QHSE Engineer / Senior QHSE Engineer.
• Project reporting to the Lead QHSE Engineer / Senior QHSE Engineer. on a regular basis not limited to the projects delivery performance, risks, changes, project resources including resource performance ensuring all project KPI’s are met as set out in the Construction Contract, SSH Contract and SSH IMS Policies, Procedures, Manuals and Guidelines.
Supports on:
• Delivery of SSH Scope of Services following best practice project management principles through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling and close-out in full compliance with SSH Policies and Procedures. Including but not limited to:
• Conduct daily inspection at construction site to verify conformance with the approved QHSE procedures by the Contractor.
• Issue instructions to correct any unsafe working conditions.
• Carry out and/or ensure Safety Officers carry out continuous site inspection to ensure only safe working procedures are applied.
• Participate in incidents Investigation when required and to ensure Contractor submits all relevant documentation relating to the incident.
• Verify licenses and training certificates of all Crane Operators, Riggers, and Drivers and ensure they are in compliance with Project requirements.
• Ensure all lifting equipment and loose lifting gears certificates are forwarded to SSH RE.
• Ensure Permit to Work system is being implemented.
• Maintain Project relevant QHSE records as per SSH data management policy and procedures.
• Projects monthly reviews and corrective actions not limited to SSH / Contractor qualitative performance, and risk management. Including but not limited to:
• Prepare Monthly QHSE statistics report for submittal to Head Office.
• Implement the contract documents requirements, such as design drawings, specifications, Bill of Quantities, contract conditions, etc. on site.
• Communicate on with all discipline all relevant project stakeholders and Clients maintaining strong relationships through regular and effective lines of communication.
• Responsibility for the mentoring of line staff to effectively deliver SSH Scope of Services in collaboration with the Lead QHSE Engineer / Senior QHSE Engineer.
• Responsibility for the functional report and continued development of all line reports. Including but not limited to:
• Provide the working environment and pastoral care for all line staff.
• Control Environmental aspects including Pollution, Contamination, Community Health and Welfare.
• Consult with the Lead QHSE Engineer / Senior QHSE Engineer for the derivation of key personnel retention.
Qualities and Skills
• Significant Post-Contract Supervision QHSE experience.
• Experience and acumen in managing and working effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and multi-divisional teams.
• Experience and acumen in managing and working effectively across all support services, divisions, internal and external stakeholders not limited to clients statutory bodies, sub-consultants, contractors etc.
• Working Knowledge and appreciation of industry best practices, SSH’s Policies, Procedures, Manuals, Guidelines, Systems and Applications with the ability to fully implement and comply not limited to QHSE, Contracts, Stakeholder, Risk and Change Management.
• Working Knowledge and appreciation of International and Statutory Authority requirements, codes and procedures with the ability to support on full implementation and compliance across the project.
• Motivated and enthusiastic towards project, team, and own individual objectives.
• People skills, and team management acumen ability.
• Working command of the English language (written and spoken). Knowledge and command of Arabic and/or other languages is mandatory in RTE’s where required.

Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering
• 10 years of related experience
• Registered Membership in Origin and Local Country (Location Dependent).
• HSE Diploma – Desirable
