To supervise and verify the quality control of site works to ensure conformity with all contract documents for the project, to SSH policies and procedures, and industry best practice.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibility for:
• Managing, monitoring and reporting on the delivery of SSH’s Scope of Services under SSH’s Contract assuming responsibilities as delegated by the Resident Engineer.
• Project reporting to the RE on a regular basis not limited to the projects delivery performance, risks, changes, project resources including resource performance ensuring all project KPI’s are met as set out in the Construction Contract, SSH Contract and SSH IMS Policies, Procedures, Manuals and Guidelines.
• Review all submittals such as Materials, samples, Method statements, Deliverable lists, Schedules, Site mock-ups, etc.
• Review sub-contractors’ pre-qualifications and inspect their factory / Previous projects where required.
Inspect Mock-ups / constructed works to ensure that it is iin accordance with the minimum accepted quality and the specifications.
•Review and propose response to RFIs, claims, technical proposals, requests for substitution, take minutes of meetings and prepare contractual correspondence.
Review shop drawings to ensure compliance with the contract, permit documents, design intent, full coordination with other trades and disciplines.
Review and approve Contractor’s change requests and variation so that legitimacy and extent can be confirmed. Prepare and issue job site instructions for new works and modifications to the tender contract.
Effective participation in progress meetings, workshop meetings, technical/coordination meetings & quality meetings with all trades & parties.
Prepare and submit technical proposals and studies if required.
Participate and effectively propose solutions for any discrepancy.
• Review / check and recommend the correct completed progress percentages of all discipline activities to the client / CM for Contractor’s Monthly Payment Applications.
• Review contractor’s method of statements and comment as necessary.
• Ensure that the materials delivered to the project site are compliant with approved materials data / samples. Ensure that testing of the materials is carried out in accordance with the project specifications and relevant codes/standards onsite and/or offsite as necessary. Reject and ensure removal and replacement of non-compliant materials.
• Check quality of works to ensure compliance with the contract specification requirements, method statements and approvals.
• In coordination with the RE, recommends issuing NCRs as the case may be applicable.
• Review and approve the As Built drawings, utilize inspectors to assist and provide guidance.
• Carry out regular periodic inspections at the site to ensure quality of works are in compliance with the contract specification requirements, method statements and approvals.
• Check and endorse snagging lists prepared by the inspectors
• Guide the commissioning and handing over process in accordance with the project specifications and relevant codes/standards.
• Assist in preparation and issue of Taking Over and Final Completion Certificates for the building works.
• Robust interface and communication with SSH Building Design Division and SSH Support Services towards ensuring that SSH PCMS delivery is not negatively impacted.
• Check, review and approve all the discipline specific materials submittals, proposals, calculations and samples. Refer any complicated design issues to SSH design office for assistance if necessary.
• Respond to contractor’s RFI’s related to discipline works. Coordinate with SSH design office if additional design information is required.
• Pre-Contract to Post-Contract handover, Supervision Management Plan and Close-Out Report which are to be concluded within KPI and as defined under SSH Policies and Procedures.
• Implement the contract documents requirements, such as design drawings, specifications, Bill of Quantities, contract conditions, etc. on site.
• Act as the Project contract liaison with all relevant project stakeholders and Clients maintaining strong relationships through regular and effective lines of communication related to his discipline.
• Responsibility for the mentoring of line staff to effectively deliver SSH Scope of Services in collaboration with the RE.
• Responsibility for the functional report and continued development of all line reports.
• Ensure that subordinates on the site are fulfilling their duties correctly with respect to the day to day supervision of works.
• Provide the working environment and pastoral care for all line staff.
Overview the Preparation of snagging lists.
Review all close out documents such as As-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties, asset registers, etc. handing-over documents.
Qualities and Skills
• Significant Post-Contract Supervision Consultancy and extensive Engineering experience.
• Experience and acumen in managing and working effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and multi-divisional teams.
• Experience and acumen in managing and working effectively across all support services, divisions, internal and external stakeholders not limited to clients, statutory bodies, sub-consultants, contractors etc.
• Significant knowledge and appreciation of International and Statutory Authority requirements, codes and procedures with the ability to drive full implementation and compliance across the project.
• Motivated and enthusiastic towards continuous self-improvement, and towards line reports to achieve improvement.
• The Senior Architect has a Client facing role, requiring excellent communication skills and stakeholder management ability.• Significant command of the English language (written and spoken). Knowledge and command of Arabic and/or other languages is an advantage in some territories.

Qualifications
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an internationally recognized university.
The achievement of a Professional registration of an internationally recognised institution i.e RIBA, AIA, LEED is highly desirable and a distinct advantage.
Previous demonstrable supervision experience in reputed consultant firms in various types of projects is required
