SSH’s free series of architectural talks, which were part of the annual Dubai Design Week, this year held on 12-17 November, proved to be very popular with the public and were successful across the board.
The series, called SSH Sessions, ran from 12-14 November and gave members of the public, from students to architecture professionals, the chance to here SSH experts present talks on a range of subjects.
Our first talk, ‘Women in Architecture’, discussed the promotion of women within the engineering sector. ‘From Sketch to Digital to Reality’, exposed the stages of design, and delved into the processes that produce signature building designs. The final talk, Small to Tall – What Next? offered a peak into the future of building tall and how the architecture and engineering industry should continue to innovate and adapt to the challenges of reaching for the sky.

It was a pleasure for everyone in the SSH Sessions team to engage with the public and feed their interest in architecture, engineering and building design,” said David Daniels, Director of Architecture at SSH. “Taking part in events such as Dubai Design Week meant we had an excellent platform to bring architecture to a wider audience.”
