Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure
Ben joined SSH in December 2018 as a Senior Project Manager involved in managing and supervising SSH’s major infrastructure projects. Ben has 12 years of experience in the sector, which includes leading the design of major elements of infrastructure and roads projects from highways, surface water drainage and street lighting, to managing sewerage, potable water, irrigation networks, electrical design and telecoms. He has overseen all aspects of infrastructure networks from feasibility studies to construction supervision, with experience spanning work in the Middle East and the UK.
Before joining SSH, Ben led the Highways team at AECOM Bahrain on high-profile projects such as Diyar Al Muharraq, Madinat Salman (formerly Al Madina Al Shamalia), and the North Manama Causeway and Busaiteen Link. In addition, he acted as the Stakeholder Liaison for Bahrain Roads Design Manual 2019, writing and agreeing key parts of the design manual with authorities.
Prior to this, Ben worked at several leading UK firms on award winning projects such as London Gateway Port Access Road and Bridge (as Highway Lead) and Hitchin Flyover (as Lead Modeller), as well as various local authority projects and the South Hook LNG Terminal, among others.
Ben has been a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineering (ICE) and the Engineering Council since 2010. He obtained a Master of Science Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Glamorgan and a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from Swansea University. He sits on ICE Bahrain’s ICE Committee, the ICE Proceedings Committee and is an ICE Professional Reviewer.
