Address Dubai Mall

Located adjacent to The Dubai Mall, the initial design for Address Dubai Mall was delivered in March 2017 by Meyer Davis Studio, New York. SSH was contracted to formulate a proposed design to meet the client’s budget and timeline constraints in a two-phase programme:

• Three months’ full shutdown of public areas and partial Guestroom refurbishment
• Three months’ partial shutdown to complete guestroom upgrade floor-by-floor

SSH’s Interior Design division was responsible for the refurbishment of the public areas, guestrooms and suites, delivering detailed design and IFC documentation, coordinating with the client and project consultants, undertaking value engineering, and supporting local material sourcing.

SSH’s scope of services covered the refurbishment of the public areas, including the Level 1 porte cochere, arrival lobby, reception lobby and lobby lounge; Level 2 ballroom, pre-function area and meeting rooms; and Level 3 business centre and meeting rooms. The guestroom scope covered Levels 4–15, comprising 243 keys and the club lounge.

The initial design scope comprised a full renovation of the property, including an extension to the arrival lobby and porte cochere. The scope was subsequently reduced, primarily to a soft refurbishment, with SSH tasked with integrating the new design concept within the existing building envelope.

SSH’s Interior Design team delivered the detailed design and IFC package for the renovation, while the Construction Supervision division provided construction supervision services to support the implementation of the design on site.
