Job Summary:
The Principal Interior Designer leads and mentors a multidisciplinary design team, taking full responsibility for the delivery of large-scale interior projects from bid stage through completion. The role combines creative leadership, technical authority, commercial awareness, and client-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and inspire the design team across all project stages, ensuring design excellence and technical rigor.
• Provide strategic input during concept development and maintain overall design leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as primary client contact for all design-related matters.
• Drive innovative, sustainable design solutions aligned with SSH and client objectives.
• Oversee preparation of project specifications, materials selection, and detailing.
• Mentor and coach junior and senior team members; promote knowledge sharing and adherence to standards.
• Support operational and strategic activities, including bids, business development, and commercial management.
• Ensure compliance with statutory authority requirements, codes, and regulations.
Requirements:
• Extensive experience in interior design planning, development, and project delivery.
• Strong technical expertise in materials, building systems, and detailing.
• Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects.
• Knowledge of sustainable design principles and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and client management skills.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage.
• Strong leadership, commercial awareness, and problem-solving skills.
