Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose

Work as part of an engineering design team to plan, coordinate, and deliver mechanical design work on projects, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and timely delivery.

Core Responsibilities

• Engineering Design & Leadership:
  – Plan, schedule, organize, and execute mechanical design work for projects
  – Lead and coordinate a team of engineers and technicians to ensure design excellence
  – Develop design philosophy and contribute to project inception and development
  – Establish project delivery strategies and ensure alignment with objectives
• Project Delivery & Coordination:
  – Ensure designs meet project requirements, timelines, and budgets
  – Maintain accuracy and coordination of multidisciplinary design documentation
  – Coordinate responses to review comments, tender queries, and contractor queries
  – Prepare and contribute to design presentations and reports
• Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  – Coordinate QA/QC and review processes across projects
  – Ensure compliance with standards, codes, and statutory authority requirements
  – Apply knowledge of health & safety, fire & life safety, and sustainable design principles
• Team Development & Mentoring:
  – Mentor and support junior engineers and team members
  – Promote knowledge sharing and continuous development within the team

Skills & Experiences

• Minimum 8 years of experience in building services design consultancy
• Strong mechanical engineering design knowledge and multidisciplinary coordination
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office tools
• Knowledge of design codes, regulations, and submission requirements
• Experience in GCC projects is preferred
• Strong understanding of health & safety, fire & life safety, and sustainability
• Excellent English communication skills
• Ability to mentor and lead teams
