Omantel Headquarters receives Award of Merit in ENR’s Global Best Project Awards
The ENR’s 9th annual Global Best Projects competition winners have been announced. This year, the new Omantel Headquarters in Oman received the Award of Merit in the category for Best Office.
This competition stands apart from the others with the distinct rule that at least one firm involved in the project must be working outside of its home country, and projects are partially weighted by how globally diverse those teams are.
Originally designed by WATG Architects, this project is a distinct addition to Muscat’s urban scene. The Omantel Headquarters was awarded the LEED Platinum certification by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), making it the first building in the Sultanate to obtain this level of certification. The building was completed earlier this year and stands seven storeys tall, covering a total floor area of over 95,000 sqm.
SSH acted as the main consultant to provide structural and MEP design services throughout all design stages (Stages 1-5) and Architectural, Interior Design and Landscaping design services for Detail Design and Tender Services (Stages 4 and 5). SSH also carried out contract supervision.
Congratulations to our client and our Design and Construction Supervision teams who delivered an esteemed project.
