Jasrah Interchange Upgrade (AMAS Access Improvement – Package 4), Bahrain

Located in Bahrain, the Jasrah Interchange Upgrade (AMAS Access Improvement – Package 4) involves the construction of roads and a bridge structure, featuring a single carriageway to merge traffic from Janabiya Highway to Shaikh Isa bin Salman Highway. The project
also includes the replacement of bridge bearings at
Janabiya Bridge.

The new bridge spans a total length of 444 m and features a two-lane carriageway with an overall width of 12.90 m, including a hard shoulder and concrete barrier. Structurally, the bridge is divided into four units comprising 11 spans and is constructed using posttensioned, pre-stressed cast in-situ reinforced concrete.

It is supported by 22 piers, two abutments, 10 pile caps, and 74 bored working piles, with bearings designed to manage longitudinal and transverse forces. The project also delivers a 287.90-metre ramp entry and a 157.06-metre ramp exit, both supported by mechanically stabilised earth (MSE) walls. Additional works include the diversion and protection of utilities and
the upgrading of safety barriers at five key structures, including Jasrah Interchange and Isa Town (Sehla) Interchange.

Appointed by the Ministry of Works, SSH is delivering Design and Supervision services for the project
