Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC)

In 2010, RMJM/SSH were awarded the Project Main Consultant role and SSH was appointed as the main sub-consultant for RMJM, preparing final design and construction documentation for the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre’s exhibition halls (45,000 sqm), parking for 4,200 cars, as well as associated landscaping. SSH was then appointed the Architect of Record in 2012 and in that capacity completed the design and construction documentation for the Rotunda, containing an auditorium for 3,200 seats, ballroom, food courts and accompanying back-of-house areas.

SSH also completed the site infrastructure and hard and soft landscaping designs. OCEC is an iconic development with a global profile, and will be the first significant venture for Oman into the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions markets. The centre will act as a gateway to Muscat and draw on Oman’s strong cultural heritage, architectural traditions and natural beauty.
